My question is this, Is it possible to have a system administrator account, using AD, that does not use an extension license. For example, mtssupport is the username in AD, the only way I can figure out how to add this user into ST as an admin is to create an extension for this user. This user will never be assigned to a phone or user though it is only an admin account. Thanks, Glynn W.

Please let me know your guy's ideas. I had talked the ordering/onboarding team into purchasing a PRI but since they did not buy a PRI capable switch this is no longer an option.

It is a PRI only and doesn't not handle phones where as the 220T1 does both. Now if you're running 5 analog lines into that 90 then you are using 25 resources (Each one of those port type assignments is 5 resources), which means the maximum phones that you can connect to that switch is 65. You need to define the ports on the ShoreTel switch in director (the right side image) as Trunk for ports 1-5. Before you do this you need to create an Analog trunk group if you don't already have one and then select that trunk group.

There are some other things you can use too, such as log files and command line reporting plus some limited canned crystal reports that show some useful info. There is also a really handy tool called the Trunk Test Tool which allows you to test trunks (analog, T1, PRI, SIP, etc). It also allows you to monitor calls and keep more detailed records of those calls in log files for easy viewing later. There are tools available, it depends on what you want to do. In some cases though there could be better tools, such as to watch how many calls were taking lost packets or jitter, etc. But no one really has that except Avaya, and even thiers is not easy to use really.
