Another problem is that around 1/4 to 1/3 of the Egyptian contract rifles in the U.S. Are no longer wearing their original stocks.
Your rifle is in the highest of these three serial number ranges. The data is showing that just about all Egyptians from around serial number 28XXX up to 359XX (8000 rifles) have the scope cut. As I said before, only the last 2,500 rifles in this range ALSO have the middle sling swivel.
As such, chamberings ranged from.30-06 Springfield, 8x57mm IS, 7.57mm Mauser, 7.62x51mm NATO, 7.65x53mm Argentine and 7.92x57mm Mauser forms. Argentine forms were eventually converted for feeding from a 20-round detachable box magazine.
This magazine box is rare in the U.S. And in any case it would not fit into a 7mm or an 8mm rifle. As you have already detemined, the 30-06 boxes are a bit more than.10' too long to fit. Also as you already know, the second was the 20 round detachable magazine made for the Argentine-contract FN-49s that were converted from 7.65 to 7.62x51. A 7x57 cartridge will not physically fit into this magazine. Regardless of the cartridge incompatibility, use of THIS magazine in YOUR rifle would involve making a new magazine catch and bolt stop, modifying the trigger guard assembly in several places, and machining away portions of the feed rails on your receiver.
A closer look at a Century production stock. The wood is a very light yellow wood, maybe beech with a dark walnut stain. The dead give away on a reproduction stock is check to see if the butt is drilled for the cleaning kit. No cleaning kit recess means it's a reproduction. However, many firearms collectors would not give it any value as a collector item as it wasn't assembled by FN and was never part of Egyptian army equipment. However, it does have a unique, FN-produced receiver, with a unique crest, and an advanced FN-49 collector really should have an Eagle in their collection. Lastly, a comment to Jimmy's photo caption for the inletting on the reproduction stock. There were at least two configurations of this stock: the first had inletting to accomdate the brass buttplate as shown in Jimmy's photo; a second configuration eliminated the drilled recesses to accommodate the brass buttplate - this configuration uses the black plastic buttplate only.
It would be helpful if you could PM your serial number to me so I can enter it in the data base as the new, high-number rifle having Arabic only serial number. A photo would be great to have on file as well. FYI - I keep no names in the data base and thus don't have any record matching rifles to names.

A single barrel band was featured at the forend for rigidity. The barrel protruded only a short distance ahead which made for a relatively compact rifle system. Sighting was through conventional iron sights fore and aft while optics were supported for truly ranged firing.

The Handguard is 2 pieces. Incidently after I took it apart, and put it back together, I had difficulty getting the bolt stop to work properly. It stayed in front of the bolt and I had to get help to release the bolt. It turned out that I had tightened the screw between the trigger guard and the magazine too tightly. Since the two screws 1 in front and 1 behind the magazine are kept from turning with 1 set screw against the head, neither of the screws should be able to back out. Egyptian Contract 82xx Crown no no no My stock isn't an origional, I think, so the question about the stock crossbolt and the third sling swivel may not be valid. My stock seems to be walnut, in almost new condition, and the handguard is in two pieces. Also, the but plate is plastic, and as far as I can tell, the bolt, reciever, and barrel all have matching numbers. All the numbers on the barrel and bolt are in arabic, but they match the second set of arabic numerals that are set above the English serial number on the reciever. The remaining rifles of the Venezuelan contract of 8,012 rifles were sold as surplus in the United States, and are prized by US collectors, sportsmen, and hunters because of the unique features ordered by Venezuela, the general good to excellent condition of the surplus rifles and the superb accuracy of the 7×57mm Mauser cartridge. The second contract was for the Egyptian government ordered on May 30, 1948 and delivered by June 10, 1949, 100 rifles chambered to fire the 8×57mm Mauser cartridge.

Gyrene - On the middle sling swivel, this feature is similar that that used on many of the sniper rifles in the United Kingdom, the LeeEnfield No. 4 Mk1 (T), among others. Perhaps due to the British influence in Egypt this feature was adopted for these last 2,500 Egyptians. This feature is supposedly for an alternate position for the sling in some shooting positions (although I have never read any military tech manual issued by Egypt [or the UK] that would confirm this use). There are at least 3 different serial number ranges where the Egyptian-contract FN-49s have the scope mount dovetail machined in the left receiver rail.
